MechWarrior Online Wiki

I could make this page easier to create with a form, but right now I need to just get everything updated before I start adding new features.--Seth 19:20, 9 November 2012 (CST)

Maybe I can help... What needs updating? ==MeepSire 23:16, 9 November 2012 (CST)
Where to start?! Things that need to be updated include engine ratings and speed as well as the aforementioned TT to MWO armor stats. I tend to start out on my to-do lists in alphabetical order, but usually don't get all the way through the list. I also haven't updated the ISN news timeline in nearly a month. Things I need to add are the missing Blackjack articles as well as 'Mech stats for torso twist range and speed. Basically stuff for the number crunchers. Stuff I want to do include creating a map guide, redoing the entire theme, changing the front page layout, and a way for people to share 'Mech loadouts. Maybe I should start on a project page to track my to-do list....--Seth 00:30, 10 November 2012 (CST)
Well, consider the Blackjack articles done. Armor values are allusive and annoying but I'll get 'em as I see them. Torso twist? I have a few memorized... Maps? I could help there too. Have you considered a "Loadout Wizard"? That might help sharing. Also adding an engine rating line to the load out template would help. Im gonna start a "Colaberation Sandbox/Work Area". It'll be a page where things are tried and the talk page is for communication. ==MeepSire 00:41, 10 November 2012 (CST)

Chassis Attributes[]

Take a look at the various Atlas pages and tell me what you think of the new "Chassis Attributes" section. I want the main static numbers there for when each model starts to be come different, but I want you opinion of whether the bonus lines should stay or go. Are they confusing? Should I just link each static number to a page that describes the bonus you can get from the 'Mech tree?--Seth 00:36, 17 November 2012 (CST)

I think that the table is pretty good right now. Any bounus lines can stay untill they need to go. Though some people might not know what pitch is... Oh well, since "Elevation" is a bit long. Overall, it's useful to be able to compare mech manuverability. Linking the numbers to their bonuses sounds like a good idea if you wish to do so. I think it'd be useful. ==MeepSire 08:05, 17 November 2012 (CST)

Stock Engine Rating[]

You added this line to the Mech Model template correctly:

|<span class="info_h3">Engine Rating:</span>
|<span class="info_h4">{{#if:{{{engine rating|}}}|[[{{{engine rating|}}}]]}} </span>

Now what you need to do is add the line "|engine rating = " to all the 'Mech model pages and enter the correct stock rating. I suggest adding it below the "|engine type=" line. For example, you would enter "|engine rating = 300" for the Atlases pages. I'll change the template so that that line doesn't show an empty box if that line hasn't been added yet.--Seth 16:20, 18 November 2012 (CST)

Uh^^ oh^^ *gulp* think that's what I messed up today: deleted the rating from all Mech-pages and the template, sry, havent read this b4. Well, but finally it's consistent now -.- tell me, when my worst fears came true and u wanted the rating for some other purpose as well. --Fleur 10th Dec. 2012

oh no its fine I can always revert any changes... :) and if you really wanted to hear it, the engine ratings are useful... =MeepSire 18:04, 9 December 2012 (CST)

well, fact about the wiki might be place to think about. Stuff like "This wiki is edited by a small group of dedicated editors". You could also go into the articals for the timeline and start grabbing stuff.--Peckham33 talk Help is always given to those who ask for it 01:34, 30 November 2012 (CST)

Good ideas... I added the urbie thing a day or two ago you might have seen... I'll begin adding a few bits now, and more tomarow. ==MeepSire 01:38, 30 November 2012 (CST)

I added some instructions and helpful information for you and other administrators here, Administrators.

Range Notes[]

The range on weapons with spread should read as the same range as those in the game files. Missiles explode at max effective range and ballistics drop down. You can note spread in the content of the weapon's page and in the template using the line " |range_note= ". That will add an ! next to the range with a mouse over pop up with your note. See one of the LRM pages for an example.--Seth (talk) 18:01, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

cant remember wheres, but read something about lbx projectiles, that only about 50% hit at what is now called 'optimum range'. Meep added a '300m'-range, at which a 100% hit. If I'd only find the source now^^. But somehow these 'spread' info shouldnt be left out, imho.==Fleur (talk) 19:37, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
I'll have to remember to get some screen shots of then hitting a target at 50m intervals.--Seth (talk) 19:50, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
ok and thanks guys... And Seth, what screenshot software do you reccommend? I need a new one... ==MeepSire (talk) 02:08, 30 January 2013 (UTC)

Mech Images[]

One thing I haven't figured out is where to get the images for each of the 'mechs. I'm also wondering why the older images fit nicely, but all of the newer images various people have uploaded sit higher and cover the 'mech name. If you know the answers, I'd like to know. Thanks. --Trifler500 (talk) 03:36, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
