The Stalker is a pure assault 'Mech. None of the variants are capable carrying ECM nor do any have more than 1 module slot available. The Torso twist range is likewise limited, ranging from 60° on most models to 85° on the STK-3F. What it does carry however is some of the most numerous weapon hardpoint slots available on any 'Mech. All models at minimum have 8 hardpoints and most carry even more, compared to the Atlas which only carries 6 - 8 hardpoints depending on the model. However, all of the non-Hero 'mech variants of the Stalker are limited to only energy and missile weapon hardpoints, without the ability to carry any ballistic weapons. The Stalker is a popular "boat" 'mech, often used for configurations which carry large numbers of just one or two types of weapons designed for a particular style of combat - Medium Lasers and SRMs for close-range brawling; LRMs for long-range support; or PPCs or Large Lasers for high-damage direct fire alpha strikes.
Available Models[]

STK-3F[]The STK-3F is the original model built for the Star League. Twin LRM 10s provide indirect firepower at long range. As it closes, dual Large Lasers provide heavy direct fire at mid range. Finally, at close range, two SRM 6 racks and four Medium Lasers provide withering close-range damage.

STK-3H[]The STK-3H drops the Large Lasers of the -3F model in favor of increasing its missile racks size to dual LRM 20s. It is otherwise unchanged from the original -3F.
|
STK-4N[]The STK-4N attempts to alleviate the heat buildup problems of the -3F by dropping one of the LRM 10 launchers and a ton of LRM ammo in favor of six additional heat sinks.

STK-5M[]STK-5M - An upgrade originating from the Free Worlds League, the 5M variant of the Stalker uses moderate amounts of Star League technology. The seventeen double heat sinks of the 5M afford it far greater heat efficiency than the twenty single heat sinks of previous models. The Large Lasers were removed, replaced with a single Diverse Optics Sunbeam ER Large Laser placed in the 'Mech's centerline and a Narc Missile Beacon. The beacon allows the Stalker to tag enemy units with homing beacons, allowing friendly 'Mechs to easily send missile salvos its way. Finally, the 'Mech bears an additional ton of armor for added survivability.

STK-5S[]STK-5S - Outfitted with the relatively recently rediscovered Star League technology of circa 3050, the 5S can be characterized primarily by its tendency to overheat. The designers behind this variant took the simple expedient of upgrading its engine and firepower without taking heat build-up into consideration. The 'Mech has had its engine replaced with an XL Engine and the Large Lasers have been removed and replaced with two Large Pulse Lasers. For protection against ammunition explosions, CASE has been added to both side torsos, and an Anti-Missile System has been added for protection against incoming missiles.

STK-M[]The Stalker STK-M, aka "Misery", features a first for the Stalker line: a ballistic Hardpoint. Combined with a generous number of energy hardpoints, the Misery is just as capable of unleashing punishing damage at long range with less heat build up. Like all Hero 'Mechs, the -M can only be purchased with . The -M provides the same 30% bonus that all Hero 'Mechs do. Unlike most Hero 'Mechs, it does not come with Dual Heat Sinks, an XL Engine, or even Endo-Steel.
