Mercenary Corp is a gameplay style described in Mech Warrior Online. Mercenary corporations are the equivalent of guilds and clans in other games. Mercenary corporations fight for control of boarder worlds. This is usually done through a contract system that allows mercenary corporations to bid against each other in a blind auction. The blind auction will allow corporations to see how many other corps they are competing against but will not display the bids. Each auction will have a minimum amount of C-bills that will have to be bid for the bid to be accepted. If a mercenary corporation wins a battle or a series of battles it will be granted control of the planet and receive benefits from it.
