This article is a stub. Information on this page is largely based on what exists in the BattleTech universe circa 3049, but other than having been announced as being included in the game, has not been detailed by the developers. Please add any information that might be relevant to this unit or faction as of 3049.

Overview

Historically the Artemis IV Fire Control System was introduced in 2598.

Technically it's a missile guidance system.

Effect

  • improves the grouping size of LRM and SRM volleys.
  • improves the lock-on-time and tracking strength of LRMs.
  • does NOT add guidance to SRMs.
  • is not available for Streak SRM.
  • does interfere/is not available to NARC bearer?

Artemis:

  • makes use of its own (and sure more expensive) ammunition.
  • ammo weights 1t more than same ammunition without guidance capable warhead.
  • can be applied to all standard LRM and SRM launchers.
  • capable weapons will take up one extra Critical Slot and weigh 1t more than usual.

Upgrade

  • Mechlab Upgrade panel has an Artemis category with two options: Remove / Buy.
    • The Artemis category will only show up if the ‘Mech does have Missile Hardpoints.
    • Ability to select the upgrade will depend on availability of sufficient Critical Slots and tonnage.
  • Changing options will automatically upgrade/downgrade any existing eligible Missile Weapon and swap any eligible missile ammo to the proper type.
  • Price of the upgrade includes cost of the upgrade itself plus cost of the ammo (if there wasn't enough in the inventory).
  • Mechlab 'Loadout' equip list will only show up Artemis eligible versions of weapons and ammo if the upgrade is installed
